BMW ECU Bench Unlock Service (2018–2020 Models)
This service unlocks your ECU for use with tuning platforms such as MHD or bootmod3 (BM3).
BMW vehicles produced between 2018 and 2020 require a bench unlock before the ECU can be tuned. To verify the build date of your ECU, please remove the ECU from the vehicle after disconnecting the battery, and check the printed label for the build date.
Important for V8 Models (N63 & S63 Engines):
Both ECUs must be sent in for unlocking. Submitting only one will not work.
Once we receive your ECU(s), our team will perform the unlock and ship them back the same day. Customers are responsible for inbound shipping to Patterson Performance Parts. We will contact you upon ordering to verify any pertinent details.
